The garage was chosen as a place of potential, a pause between journeys. A symbol, maybe, of where travel is waiting; where there is expectation of what is to come or maybe of reflection of what has just been.
A fitting analogy for what the Inch by IN:CH project is about. But additionally, as the planning and execution of the project has been formulated via Zoom, finding a garage has enabled us to gather our cases and test out our plans, and to see how the luggage will fit.
Inch by IN:CH in Bath was intended to be part of Fringe Arts Bath (FaB), an annual festival of curation that usually takes place in pop-up venues across the centre of the city. Unfortunately, this year, FaB has had to be predominantly virtual with a few unexpected happenings in the street. Finding an empty garage has enabled us to start our journey on time while continuing to run in parallel with the alternative sense that such presentation of art suggests.
A short walk from town, The Garage is situated near Victoria Park and is just off the towpath/cycle way along the river.
